LOVE STORIES
2/12/08
Spring tapped me on the shoulder
early morning
and kissed me soft
atop the bridge of my nose
the roses have begun to bloom again
as the scent of jasmine
lingers in the warming air
love stories start like this...
a swift, unguarded glance,
and a smile from across the room-
oh....the newness of it all
and the chapters all begin from there
Insomnia
Your grasp gets tighter
As your fingers wrap
Around my throat
It’s getting close to midnight
And I’m still awake
Has no one ever told you
That you slither like a snake?
My eyes are tired
But the mind keeps buzzing
With the hum of daylight
Flip off the switch
Turn out the lights
You’ve got to say good night
Still you insist on dancing to
Calypso in the center of my head
Get out…get OUT!!
I have to go to bed
I need to dream
of paint-brushed skies
and blankets on the sand
Promise
It was a soft caress,
almost accidental in the way
his hand brushed my shoulder
I’d almost thought I’d imagined it
until he touched me again.
I had forgotten what it felt like
to be wanted
"warm" is what I thought
his hand so warm against my arm
as he drew circles
with his thumb
Please don’t stop
We sat together just like that
in a comfortable silence
another kind of communication
was going on
The current flowed between us
Our hands reached for each other instinctively
His grasp was strong
yet gentle around mine
"so warm…so warm" is what I thought-
this touch as intimate as a kiss
May I have a kiss? Please don’t go
Dreams
With every chance there is
you appear-
solid to the touch
seen, felt
Why are you still here?
I thought you were gone
-so unforgettable-
but you ARE here
in a nightmare
of exquisite pleasure
scratch marks and teeth
mar skin
of raging kisses
and the most tender
clinging in the aftermath
of love
Your whispers make me shiver
but,
with the saddest of good-byes
I must wake
and open my eyes
I walk in silent circles
‘round the courtyard
Eucalyptus trees whisper
as I round each turn
They call. I listen
to songs of the wind,
and each story of the shadows
cast along my pathway
"I 've been here before…"
I know because
these flowers told me so
We stood here
within this circle of these trees
just beyond the reach of a setting sun
I remember
midnight harmony,
laughter and sighs
from kiss-swollen lips
Roses
cry for me
as I recall
a glimpse of yesterday
Hand in hand, we walk along the shore
dodging waves, collecting shells
along the way
You look at me as if to ask a question
I answer you with words
I do not say
I hold your hand to say that we're forever
kiss on your lips;
I love you, oh so much
Embrace you just to tell you that
you'll never be alone
and you reply...
You touch my face, your hands say
I am beautiful
Caress my hair to tell me that you care
You kiss me back; it says to me how
much you love me too as we walk on and
leave our footprints in the sand
Between the Sheets
~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
How I want you.
You're my deepest obsession.
Every time I think of you, I burn.
Come play with me.
You're so sweet;
a one in a million lover,
but be discreet.
Let's not speak of what goes on
between the sheets
(It's our secret)
No on needs to know of
how I scream your name
or how I get all heated when
you bite my neck and back.
I'll never tell them how you
close your eyes or whisper how
you like it when I'm tasting you.
Don't kiss and tell, babe.
You know you're the one I want.
(It's our secret)
They don't need to know about
the scratches on your back
or of the bruises I left on your hip.
I promise not to talk about the teeth marks
on my shoulders or the
silk burns that you left around my wrists...
Let's be discreet.
Let's not talk about what's done
between the sheets
There, in the moonlight, she looked like an angel. He had to taste her. He started with her mouth, then her neck and he sampled each breast. He sucked and bit softly and elicited soft moans of pleasure from her. He went lower to her ribcage then her navel and lower still. He tasted her and every flick of his tongue had her digging her nails savagely into his shoulders, but he didn't feel pain. All he could feel was her pleasure. Her skin’s so soft and she tasted so good that he continued, but she begged him to stop. She knelt with him and kissed him again. She could taste herself on his mouth. She tells him to still his hands as she undressed him slowly. Her mouth went to every part of his body she touched. The salt of his skin was intoxicating and she wanted more. She slowly lowered him onto the mossy ground. She loved the play of muscles under her hands.
Mad lust was taking over and it made her high. She straddled him and ground herself into his hips. She could hear the sharp intake of his breath as she continued to tease. She bent down slowly, teasingly and kissed him with all the lust that was building inside her. She ran her tongue across his lip and sucked and bit his bottom lip seductively. She could feel his self-control disappearing and she reveled in it. She trailed kisses along his jaw and neck all the while savoring the flavor or his skin. She slid slowly down his body as her hands touched and her mouth tasted all that her eyes couldn’t see in the dark. She moved further lower, but he stilled her movements.
He was taking control and she saw the want in his eyes. He held her commandingly by the hips and rocked slowly against her. A sigh of pleasure escaped from her lips. Her hair brushed his hands teasingly and it mocked him. He grabbed a handful of her hair and slowly pulled her head back. He kissed her roughly, hungrily. First he kissed her mouth, then the column of her neck. He wrapped his arms tightly around her and rolled her onto her back. Her hair spilled across the ground in ebony disarray. He looked at her as if in a trance. He knew of no one that could make him lose complete control, but her. There’s just something about this woman that he couldn’t figure out, but he wanted her, needed to possess her. She could see the change in his eyes and hear it in his breathing. She reached up to touch his face and trace his lips with her fingertips. With a deep sigh she thought, what a beautiful man he is. As the moonlight touched her bare skin, he knew he had to have her completely.
He ran his hand along the entire length of her body all the while reveling in the way her skin shone in the moonlight. She arched her back in ecstasy as he kissed and caressed her in the most intimate of places. Soft moans of pleasure escaped from her lips heightening every sensation that he already felt. "She’s mine," he thought to himself, "and no one else can ever have her". He joined her then. A multitude of thoughts and emotions filled the night air. His kisses fed her with the sustenance that she craved and her body gave to him what he’d so hungered for. They made love at a fevered pace, mouths swollen and skin bruised from the onslaught of passion. Desperate hands searched for and found their mates. Ivory teeth marred caramel skin as nails left marks on muscled back. Then they came like evening rain.
Love’s Eternal Kiss
~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
We met on All Hallows Eve. You were
dressed in black with your hair tied back
and I, in a white satin gown. You walked
in the shadows and I carried the starlight
in my eyes.
You asked me to dance and, although my
hands shook as you took them,
I did not refuse. I was enchanted.
We waltzed effortlessly across the moonlit floor.
The marble beneath our feet remained
silent as if we danced upon clouds.
The orchestra played a tune I'd never heard
before and yet, I recognized its melody.
Could it be that I'd danced this waltz with you
before? My mind questioned, yet my heart
knew the answer.
As the night grew late and darkness turned
to light, you held me still. You cupped my face
and whispered my name softly in my ear.
We never spoke and yet I knew your name.
Just as the sunlight dripped all around us,
you stopped time and shared with me the bliss
of love's eternal kiss
With twisted wings I faltered
My heart still beats though
it's no longer whole.
To test the strength I have within
I danced upon the ice and I fell through
A weathered, melancholy overture
keeps playing
corrupted by the passing of time.
A rusty, swinging gate of absolution
flies open to the floods of memory’s demise
If only I could reason with my thinking
instead of feeling everything within.
Then maybe I could pick up all the pieces
that broke when I found myself again
I've tripped upon the roots of complications.
I’ve dreamt of what my life could really be
if I could fly within this grand illusion
beside my dreams on tattered, twisted wings
Lying here together
Our intention was some sleep
forgive me if my hands do wander
Be still?!
My hands won’t keep
I want to touch your jaw line
and the fullness of your lips.
Livewires course through my body
as I trace your contours with my
fingertips
Forgive me for undoing
all the buttons down your shirt.
I need to feel
the skin beneath.
I promise it won’t hurt
Maybe if you’ll pardon
perhaps a little sample,
a taste where neck and shoulder meet
and earlobe will be ample
Apologies, I have many
But, mean them? No, I don’t
Forgive my wandering hands, love
Still them? No...I won’t
I sat cross-legged in the middle of the Persian rug contented in the busy silence of an empty house. My skin still smelled of the outdoors from lying in the sun earlier in the day. The dryer droned mechanically as I concentrated on my task looking up, now and then, at the sky through the sliding glass window.
I didn’t hear you come home. How long you’d been standing there watching me, I don’t know. But, I sensed you. It started off as a tingle in the small of my back-a tiny electric shock that sent tremors to the tips of my toes and fingertips.
I slowed my hands and sighed loudly as I pulled the hair away from my shoulders to one side. I leaned forward to grab more towels and to show you a generous view of my posterior. Still, you didn’t move, but I could’ve sworn I heard you catch your breath.
I caught your reflection in the glass of the entertainment center, but pretended not to see you. I still wore the bikini top and the strap kept slipping off my shoulder every time I moved. I didn’t notice nor did I care. It was just something else to tease you with.
My hands stilled as you wrapped your arms around me from behind. You kissed my earlobe and slowly and methodically nuzzled and nibble the sensitive crook of my neck. I groaned and thought, “How do you do that?”.
I turned my body to face you and gave you a smile. Your eyes darkened as you stared at my lips. You leaned towards me, slowly coaxing me to lie atop the towels on the floor. Our hands and mouths were everywhere at once sharing and devouring and the little devil inside my head couldn’t help but wonder “Who would have thought that folding towels could be so sensual?”.
You sit quietly at your desk
projecting numbers,
concentrating, calculating
you’re really not there
Your palm sweats
as you grip the pen
while writing
The phone rings-
interrupts thought,
but only for a second
For in your mind….
You’ve chocolate
On your fingertips
And whipped cream
On the full of your lips
Margarita glasses sit empty
On the table
And soft sighs fill
The evening air
There’s lipstick on your collar
From when you wore your shirt
And now I wear the tie
That you discarded….
My apologies, love
I didn’t mean to make you
feel the need
to wash your hands
All is quiet....still
and, yet again, I am wide awake.
In the silence of the eve
my mind sings...soars....
Music plays and shadows dance
upon the walls of my beating heart
A little reminder
that I'm still breathing
With eyes closed I see him there-
an angelic aura around him
Hands clasped, head bowed
God hears his silent whispers.
"I am just a man...."
Is anyone listening?
I smile in answer,
arms outstretched for a warm embrace.
I hear you.
And, I am a woman with music
and words that flow swiftly
through her veins-
color and light in my vision
and I say...
"Hello, my friend. Would you care to dance?"
Textures...*sigh*...colors...
I dream in textures and colors
Reds and blues surround and swirl
in a mixture of molten silver and gold
I am there
You are there
We are together
You rest your head upon my shoulder
as my hands revel in the memories
of your skin, the softness of your hair
and the steady beating of your heart
You are tough leather
to my velvet and lace
We are sunshine and moonlight
You whisper how you've missed me
softly in my ear...
oh, how I've missed you too
But, I cannot explain with mere words
Let me share with you
the gentle violence
of fevered kisses and roaming hands
Watch as the reds and blues go violet
as our skin pebbles beneathe the heat
of our searing lips and fingertips.
You've unlocked the door, so come in...
I'm here
You're here
Tethered.....we fall asleep
