Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Dr. Martin Luther King, "Strength of Love," 1963

Scattered with purple
circles
the stone road that leads
to the acidic
pool of desire
is tenuous and fleeting
and never holds
to a perpendicular plane

No one can be perfectly free till all are free;
no one can be perfectly moral till all are moral;
no one can be perfectly happy till all are happy.

Flowers & Vortexes Spotlight:
Gulls by Xristi Megas
Gulls
Bent-winged gulls
thrust,
glide
unmirrored in the froth-frosted
waves
that surge, climax,
recede to uncertain
serenity.
Gray, soiled autumn
sky with
rolling clouds.
Gray, soiled autumn
sea with
rising waves,
alike.
The glinting spheres
make no
distinction.
The unseen gulls
deep in the ocean's deep
are
perhaps
the true fliers,
and those that
soar
only a reflection.

O' GREAT SPIRIT
help me always
to speak the truth quietly,
to listen with an open mind
when others speak,
and to remember the peace
that may be found in silence.
Cherokee Prayer

to help spread the word about the Promise of Light mission
and the message that we want to convey to the world:
We are here for such a short time.
Let us love and understand as much as we can.
Aristotle (384 B.C. - 322 B.C.)
Friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies.
Our intent, as a publisher, is to publish nothing but poetry and prose,
artwork and photographs of the highest quality and literary standards.
If it takes the reader, the observer, on a journey, touches their soul,
activates their sympathetic nervous systems, transports them to another
place all while listening to the sounds of the rain, or to no sound at all, and
the hum of the world fades into its background, this is what we intend to publish.
In other words, give us work that’s going to affect us emotionally, work thick
with metaphor, or is simply said in beautiful way, or makes us see something
in a beautiful way, or makes us see in another completely different way that
we’ve never seen before. Makes us see it. Make us feel it.
Send only your best work.
Here at the site we intend to provide words, images, and sounds
to entice our readers, to enhance their experience in every sense,
to educate, to encourage emotional growth, spirituality, enlightenment,
or just some form of a heightened awareness in which love is the guide.
